In the journalism category of the hk prize, Xi Tianqi, a reporter with a short 1 1/2-year tenure at China Daily Hong Kong, won second place for her story titled Making Waves. The judges of this year’s hk prize for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion chose 30 shortlisted works that explore different aspects of the world’s changing landscape. The theme — Our Changing World — encourages artists to use their unique interpretation to explore the many dimensions of global evolution and how these changes affect us as individuals and society as a whole.

The Spirit of Hong Kong awards was established to honor local heroes who may not be famous, but truly embody the true spirit of Hong Kong and make a difference in supporting the community. They might not be the wealthiest or most powerful, but they are all good Samaritans and selfless caregivers who never give up and inspire others with their dedication and hard work. The award ceremony will be held this October at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. For more information, please visit the hk prize website.
